FTSE Futures Morning Update on 11 October

The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,037.00 up with +0.29% percent or -0.20+20.00 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,146.50  with a loss of  -0.43% percent or -22.00 point . The DAX Futures is trading at 11,609.50   with a loss of -0.95% percent or -111.00 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures is trading at 3,225.00  with a loss of -1.10%  percent or -36.00  point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

London stocks were set for heavy losses on Thursday following a massive selloff in the US and Asia amid growing concerns about rising interest rates and trade tensions between the US and China.

The FTSE 100 was called to open 103 points lower at 7,042.

Stocks on Wall Street suffered their worst losses on Wednesday in eight months, with the Nasdaq ending down 4.1% , the Dow 3.2% lower and the S&P 500 down 3.3% as worries about higher US rates, political uncertainty in Italy and increasingly sour US-China trade relations sparked heavy selling.

For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 7,063.90  with a loss of  -1.15% percent or  -81.84 point. France’s CAC 40 closed at 5,146.69   with a loss of -1.14% percent or -59.52 point. Germany’s DAX closed at 11,604.09  with a loss of  -0.93% percent or -108.41 point.

For the day the Dow is trading at 25,598.74  with a loss of -3.15% percent or -831.83 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,785.68 with  a loss of -3.29% percent or -94.66 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,422.05  with a loss of  -4.08% percent or -315.97 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 22,590.86   with a loss of -3.89% percent or -915.18 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 25,379.07   with  a loss of -3.11% percent or -814.00 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,583.46   with a loss of -5.22% percent or -142.38 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 34,265.37   with a loss of -1.43% percent or -495.52 point at 12:15 PM.
