FTSE Futures Morning Update on 19 January

UK PRE MARKET

The FTSE 100 Futures are trading at 7,646.80  with a loss of -0.11% percent or -8.70 point. The CAC 40 Futures are trading at 5,485.20   with a loss of -0.14%  percent or -7.80  point . The DAX Futures are trading at 13,267.20 for up with +0.01% percent or +1.70 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures are trading at 3,607.00  with a loss of -0.17% percent or -6.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

London stocks had extended their losses for a fourth day on Friday, dragged lower by a stronger pound and a bout of profit taking as investors sifted through a torrent of trading updates.

The FTSE 100 fell 0.3% to 7,700.96 as the pound rose to its highest level against the dollar since June 2016, up 0.4% to 1.3891 but was flat against the euro to 1.1353. A firmer pound tends to dent the top-flight index as around 70% of its constituent derive most of their earnings from overseas.

For the day the Dow are trading at 26,017.81  with a loss of -0.37% percent or -97.84 point. The S&P 500 are trading at 2,798.03   with a loss of -0.16%  percent or -4.53 point. The Nasdaq Composite are trading at 7,296.05  with a loss of -0.03% percent or  -2.23 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 23,808.06 for up with +0.19% percent or +44.69 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 32,169.65  for up with +0.15% percent or +47.71 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,487.86  for up with +0.38% percent or +13.11 point. India’s BSE Sensex are trading at 35,346.90 for up with +0.25% percent or +86.61 point at 12:15 PM.
