FTSE Futures Morning Update on 23 January

UK PRE MARKET

The FTSE 100 Futures are trading at 7,686.00  for up with +0.11% percent or +8.50 point. The CAC 40 Futures are trading at 5,570.80 for up with +0.35%  percent or +19.30  point . The DAX Futures are trading at 13,575.50 for up with +0.96% percent or +129.00 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures are trading at 3,677.00 for up  with +0.63% percent or +23.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

 London’s top flight index sagged a little as France’s Prime Minister, Emmanuel Macron held out the possibility of a bespoke trading arrangement for the UK after Brexit, boosting the value of the pound, and with bookmakers under the cosh amid speculation the government is planning a £2 maximum stake on betting machines.

The FTSE 100 ended the session down by 0.20% at 7,715.44, while the pound was up 0.58% versus the dollar at 1.3944 and by another 0.50% against the euro at 1.1397.

In parallel, the second-tier index edged up by 0.01% to 20,655.17.

Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 32,873.46  for up with +1.48% percent or +480.05 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,546.50  for up with +1.29% percent or +45.14 point. India’s BSE Sensex are trading at 36,093.47 for up with +0.83% percent or +295.46 point at 12:15 PM.
