FTSE Futures Morning Update on 29 Nov. 2019

The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,393.00  with a loss of -0.29% percent or -21.80 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,912.72  with a loss of –0.24% percent or –14.12 point. The DAX Futures is trading at 13,201.00  with a loss of -0.38% percent or -51.00 point. The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures trading at 3,692.00 with a loss of -0.32% percent or -12.00  point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

The FTSE 100 ended the session down 0.18% at 7,416.43, although the FTSE 250 managed to keep its head above water and close 0.33% higher at 21,023.55.

In currencies, the pound was last 0.13% weaker against the dollar at $1.2904 and off 0.2% against the euro at €1.1724.

Sterling had rallied overnight, after the MRP YouGov poll – the same poll that predicted the outcome of the 2017 election – suggested that the Conservatives were on track for a 68-seat majority.

YESTERDAY ACTIVITY

For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 7,416.43  with a loss of –0.18% percent or –13.35  point. France’s CAC  40 closed at 5,912.72  with a loss of –0.24% percent or –14.12 point.Germany’s DAX closed at 13,245.58  with a loss of –0.31% percent or –41.49  point.

WORLD MARKETS

For the day the Dow is trading at 28,164.00 up with +0.35% percent or +97.53 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 3,153.63 up with +0.42% percent or +13.11 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 8,705.18 up with +0.66% percent or +57.24 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 23,293.91 with a loss of –0.49% percent or –115.23 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 26,355.16  with a loss of –1.99% percent or –536.04 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,871.98 with a loss of –0.61% percent or –17.71 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 40,756.34   with a loss of –0.91% percent or – 373.83  point at 12:15 PM.
