FTSE Futures Morning Update on 08 May 2019

The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,199.20  with a loss -0.09% percent or -6.80 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,380.80 up  with +0.07% percent or+3.80 point. The DAX Futures is trading at 12,145.00 up with +0.45% percent or +54.80 point. The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures trading at 3,440.00  up with +0.54% percent or +18.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

London stocks looked set to nudge lower at the open on Wednesday following downbeat US and Asian sessions amid growing fears over Sino-US trade relations and as investors mull over a set of mixed Chinese trade data.

London Capital Group analyst Jasper Lawler said: “The overriding fear here is that global growth will take a hit should the US and China fail to hash out a trade deal and do so sooner rather than later. Just as the global economy was starting to show tentative signs of stabilising, a bigger slowdown is now back on the cards.”

For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 7,253.11 with a loss of -0.10% percent or -7.36 point. France’s CAC  40 closed at 5,394.10  with a loss of -0.030% percent or -1.64 point. Germany’s DAX closed at 12,131.40 up with +0.31% percent or +37.83 point.

WORLD MARKETS

For the day the Dow is trading at 25,965.09 with a loss of -1.79% percent or -473.39  point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,884.05 with a loss of -1.65% percent or -48.42 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,963.76  wilth  a loss of -1.96% percent or -159.53 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 21,602.59 with a loss of -1.46% percent or -321.13 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 28,975.69 a loss of -1.32% percent or -387.33   point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,893.76 with a loss of -1.12% percent or -32.63 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 37,946.53 a loss of – 0.86% percent or -330.10 point at 12:15 PM.
