FTSE Futures Morning Update on 05 April 2019

The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,344.50 with +0.04% percent or +3.00 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,464.50 up with +0.14% percent or +7.50 point. The DAX Futures is trading at  12,016.00 up with +0.06% percent or +7.60 point. The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures trading at 3,370.00 up with +0.06% percent or +2.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

US President Trump said on Thursday after a meeting with Chinese Vice Premier Liu He that a trade deal between the two nations was about four weeks away, with some sticking points remaining. Trump said the two sides had agreed “a lot of the most difficult points” but still had some way to go.

On home turf, meanwhile, Prime Minister Theresa May is due to hold another round of talks with Labour following four and a half hours of discussions on Thursday, in a bid to break the Brexit deadlock.

This comes as European Council President Donald Tusk suggested a flexible 12-month delay to Article 50 with an option to leave the EU once the Withdrawal Agreement is ratified by parliament, and as May and Labour leader Corbyn battle with their own parties about the possibility of a second Brexit referendum.

For the day the Dow is trading at 26,384.63 up with +0.64% percent or +166.50 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,879.39 up with +0.21% percent or +5.99 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,891.78  up with +0.048% percent or +3.77 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 21,807.50  up with +0.38% percent or +82.55 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 29,936.32 with a loss of -0.17% percent or -50.07  point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 3,246.57 up with +0.94% percent or +30.28 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 38,744.23  up with +0.15% percent or +59.51 point at 12:15 PM.
