FTSE Futures Morning Update on 25 March 2019

The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,107.80  with a loss of -0.06% percent or -4.50 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,238.50  with a loss of -0.26% percent or -13.70 point. The DAX Futures is trading at  11,311.80 with a loss of -0.22% percent or -25.00 point. The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures trading at 3,208.00 with a loss of -0.25% percent or -8.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

Against the US dollar, meanwhile, the pound was 0.63% higher to 1.3189 with yields on 10-year Gilts down by five basis points at 1.01% – having earlier hit a 52-week low at 1.0% – as global growth concerns reared their ugly head again both in the Eurozone and in the US

“It has been a whipsaw week for equities, which is an indication of how conflicted investors are at present. Equities have been so strong of late that it makes little sense to abandon the asset entirely, but a sense that things have run too far, too fast is hard to shake off,” said IG’s Chris Beauchamp.

For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 7,207.59  with a loss of -2.01% percent or ?147.72 point. France’s CAC  40 closed at 5,269.92  with a loss of -2.02% percent or -108.92 point. Germany’s DAX closed at 11,364.17  with a loss of -1.61% percent or -185.79  point.

WORLD MARKETS

For the day the Dow is trading at 25,502.32  with a loss of -1.77% percent or -460.19 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,800.71 with a loss of -1.90% percent or -54.17 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,642.67 with a loss of -2.50% percent or -196.29 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 20,977.11 with a loss of -3.01% percent or -650.23 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 28,491.90 with a loss of -2.13% percent or -621.46  point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 3,043.03 with a loss of -1.97% percent or -61.12 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 37,767.56  with a loss of -1.04% percent or -399.75 point at 12:15 PM.
