FTSE Futures Morning Update on 16 October

The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,003.80 up with +0.34% percent or +23.80 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,101.00 up with  +0.24% percent or +12.00 point . The DAX Futures is trading at 11,641.50  up with  +0.28% percent or+32.00 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures is trading at 3,205.00  up with +0.09% percent or +3.00 point.


London stocks finished on a mixed note, with the top-flight index staging a small bounce even as the pound regained some composure but with the FTSE 250 clobbered by a spate of profit warnings.

The FTSE 100 was up by 0.48% or 33.31 points to 7,029.22, although at one point during the session it dropped below the 7,000 mark to sit at six-month lows.

In parallel, the second-tier index dropped 0.90% or 170.0 points o 18,803.45. Meanwhile, sterling was little changed at $1.31605 and down 0.21% versus the euro at 1.1354, after it emerged that weekend Brexit negotiations between Dominic Raab and the EU’s chief negotiator, Michel Barnier, failed to yield any breakthroughs, with the Irish border still the main bone of contention.


For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 7,029.22  up with +0.48% percent or +33.31 point. France’s CAC 40 closed at 5,095.07  with a loss of -0.018% percent or  -0.90 point. Germany’s DAX closed at 11,614.1  up with +0.78% percent or +90.35 point.


For the day the Dow is trading at 25,250.55  with  a loss of -0.35% percent or  -89.44 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,750.79 with a loss of  -0.59% percent or -16.34 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,430.74 with a loss of -0.88% percent or -66.15 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 22,549.24 up with +1.25% percent or +277.94  point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 25,332.89    with a loss of -0.44% percent or -112.17 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,540.80   with a loss of  -1.06% percent or -27.30 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 35,045.20  up  with +0.52% percent or +180.10  point at 12:15 PM.
