FTSE Futures Morning Update on 16 August

UK PRE MARKET

The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,505.20 up with +0.12% percent or +9.20 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,316.73  up with +0.22% percent or +11.52 point . The DAX Futures is trading at 12,175.50 up with +0.38% percent or +46.50 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures is trading at 3,355.00 up with +0.36% percent or +12.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

London shares have closed lower, as European markets as a whole were impacted by increasing trade tensions, as well as accelerating British inflation in July.

The FTSE 100 closed 113.8 points or 1.5% down to 7,497.87. Top of the losers was Fresnillo, which dropped 8% to 895p after Morgan Stanley cut its price target today.

The FTSE 250 ended 189.4 points or 0.9% lower to 20,320.35. Mining firm Kaz Minerals topped the losers, after Barclays lowered its price target today.

For the day the Dow is trading at 25,162.41  with a loss of -0.54% percent or -137.51 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,818.37  with a loss of – 0.76% percent or -21.59 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,774.12 with a loss of -1.23% percent or  -96.78 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 22,192.04 with a loss of -0.055% percent or -12.18 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 27,046.68 with a loss of -1.01% percent or -276.91 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,705.19 with a loss of  -0.66% percent or  -18.07  point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 37,763.16  with a loss of -0.23% percent or -88.84 point at 12:15 PM.
