FTSE Futures Morning Update on 14 August

UK PRE MARKET

The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,631.00 up with +0.01% percent or +1.00 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,434.96  up with +0.42% percent or +22.64 point . The DAX Futures is trading at 12,429.00 up with +0.48% percent or +59.50 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures is trading at 3,427.00 up with +0.47% percent or +16.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

“Investors remained fearful on Monday, the Turkish lira’s precipitous plunge – and the concerns that a financial crisis in the country would ripple through the rest of Europe – keeping the markets in the red, ” says Connor Campbell, financial analyst at Spreadex.

He adds: “Looking to the US open and the Dow Jones is set to join its European peers in the red. The futures have the index dipping 0.2% after the bell, a slight decline that would nevertheless leave the Dow only a smidge above 25,250, its worst open in nearly three weeks.

For the day the Dow is trading at 25,187.70 with a loss of -0.50% percent or -125.44 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,821.93 with  a loss of -0.40% percent or -11.35 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,819.71  with a loss of -0.25% percent or -19.40 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 22,356.08 up with +2.28% percent or +498.65 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 27,719.23 with a loss of -0.78% percent or -217.34 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,780.96 with a loss of  -0.18% percent or  -4.91  point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 37,892.07 up with +0.66% percent or +247.17 point at 12:15 PM.
