FTSE Futures Morning Update on 09 August

UK PRE MARKET

The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,712.50 with a loss of -0.02% percent or -1.50 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,473.04   with a loss of  -0.52% percent or -28.86 point . The DAX Futures is trading at 12,607.00 with a loss of -0.11% percent or -14.50 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures is trading at 3,479.00  with a loss of -0.32% percent or -11.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

London shares have ended on a high, thanks to the pound continuing to fall due to Brexit fears.

The FTSE 100 closed 58.2 points or 0.8% ahead to 7,776.65, led by insurer Prudential, which rose 3.7% to £18.22 after reporting a 9% rise in first-half operating profit to £2.4bn.

The FTSE 250 ended 96 points or 0.5% up to 20,770.64.

Top of the winners was automotive fluid systems maker TI Fluid Systems, which jumped 6.4% to 266p after reporting a 4.6% rise in pre-tax profits for the first half of 2018.

For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 7,731.49 with a loss of -0.58% percent or -45.16 point. France’s CAC 40 closed at 5,470.89  with a loss of -0.56% percent or -31.01 point. Germany’s DAX closed at 12,621.20 with a loss of -0.098% percent or -12.34 point.

For the day the Dow is trading at 25,583.75 with a loss of -0.18% percent or -45.16 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,857.70 with  a loss of -0.026% percent or -0.75 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,888.33 up with +0.06% percent or +4.66 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 22,598.39 with a loss of -0.20% percent or -45.92 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 28,600.03 up with +0.85% percent or  +240.89 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,794.38 up with +1.83% percent or +50.31  point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 38,023.97 up with +0.36% percent or +136.41 point at 12:15 PM.
