FTSE Futures Morning Update on 08 August

UK PRE MARKET

The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,670.50 up with +0.92% percent or +70.00 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,525.53  up with +0.076% percent or +4.22 point . The DAX Futures is trading at 12,592.00  with a loss of -0.49% percent or -61.50 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures is trading at 3,501.00  with a loss of -0.14% percent or -5.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

London shares have ended higher, as European markets were boosted by Wall Street’s encouraging open.

The FTSE 100 closed 54.7 points or 0.7% ahead to 7,718.48, led by insurer Standard Life, which recovered and climbed 4.7% to 321p after announcing its first-half profits fell this morning due to a failed merger.

The FTSE 250 ended 36.3 points or 0.2% higher to 20,675.64. Top of the winners was building product manufacturer Ibstock, which rose 5.3% to 247.2p after broker Berenberg reaffirmed its buy investment rating on its stock today.

For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 7,734.79 up with +0.21% percent or +16.31 point. France’s CAC 40 closed at 5,523.99  up with +0.049% percent or +2.68 point. Germany’s DAX closed at 12,629.41  with a loss of -0.15%percent or +-18.78 point.

WORLD MARKETS

For the day the Dow is trading at 25,628.91 up with +0.50% percent or +126.73 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,858.45 up with +0.28% percent or +8.05 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,883.66 up with +0.31% percent or +23.99 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 22,644.31  with a loss of -0.081% percent or -18.43 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 28,352.65 up with +0.37% percent or  +103.77 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,744.07 with a loss of -1.27% percent or -35.30  point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 37,877.02 up with +0.56% percent or +211.22 point at 12:15 PM.
