FTSE Futures Morning Update on 20 April

UK PRE MARKET

The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,290.00 up with +0.22% percent or +16.00 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,391.00  up with +0.24% percent or +13.00 point . The DAX Futures is trading at 12,556.50  with a loss of  -0.17% percent or -21.50 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures is trading at 3,408.00 with a loss of -4.00  percent or -0.12% point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

London stocks clung on to small gains on Friday as investors shrugged off disappointing retail sales data, with Shire given a shot in the arm as potential takeover battle emerged for the drugmaker.

The FTSE 100 closed 11.58 point higher or up 0.2% to 7,328.92, while the pound was flattish against the dollar at 1.4197 but climbed 0.3% over the afternoon versus the euro to regain the 1.15 level lost earlier in the week.

The British blue chip index was outperforming many of its competitors, noted analyst Joshua Mahony at IG, as a downbeat start to US trade saw American indices join the likes of the DAX and Ibex in the red.

India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 34,375.47  with a loss of -0.15% percent or ?52.61  point at 12:15 PM.
