The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,290.00 up with +0.22% percent or +16.00 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,391.00  up with +0.24% percent or +13.00 point . The DAX Futures is trading at 12,556.50  with a loss of  -0.17% percent or -21.50 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures is trading at 3,408.00 with a loss of -4.00  percent or -0.12% point.


London stocks clung on to small gains on Friday as investors shrugged off disappointing retail sales data, with Shire given a shot in the arm as potential takeover battle emerged for the drugmaker.

The FTSE 100 closed 11.58 point higher or up 0.2% to 7,328.92, while the pound was flattish against the dollar at 1.4197 but climbed 0.3% over the afternoon versus the euro to regain the 1.15 level lost earlier in the week.

The British blue chip index was outperforming many of its competitors, noted analyst Joshua Mahony at IG, as a downbeat start to US trade saw American indices join the likes of the DAX and Ibex in the red.

For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 7,328.92  up with +0.16% percent or +11.58 point. France’s CAC 40 closed at 5,391.64  up with +0.21% percent or +11.47 point. Germany’s DAX closed at 12,567.42 with a loss of -0.19% percent or ?23.41 point.


For the day the Dow is trading at 24,664.89  with a loss of  -0.34% percent or  ?83.18 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,693.13  with a loss of -0.57% percent or ?15.51 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,238.06 with a loss of -0.78% percent or ?57.18 point.
