FTSE Futures Morning Update on 07 December

UK PRE MARKET

The FTSE 100 Futures are trading at 7,352.50 for up with +0.14% percent or +10.00 point. The CAC 40 Futures are trading at 5,381.50 for up with +0.20% percent or +11.00 point . The DAX Futures are trading at 13,049.50 for up with  +0.29% percent or +38.00 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures are trading at 3,565.0 for up with +0.20% percent or +8.0 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

Shares reversed earlier losses to finish just a touch higher on Wednesday as the pound remained under pressure on account of the breakdown in Brexit talks, with M&A news providing a welcome distraction.

At the closing bell, the FTSE 100 was up 0.28% or 20.53 points to 7,348.03, while the pound was down 0.54% versus the dollar at 1.33713 and off by 0.20% weaker against the euro at 1.1344.

CMC Markets analyst David Madden said the drop in stock markets could be down to profit-taking into the year end.

For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 7,348.03 for up with +0.28% percent or +20.53 point. France’s CAC 40 closed at 5,374.35 with a loss of -0.02% percent or –1.18 point. Germany’s DAX closed at 12,998.85 with a loss of -0.38% percent or –49.69 point.

WORLD MARKETS

For the day the Dow are trading at 24,140.91 with a loss of -0.16% percent or –39.73 point. The S&P 500 are trading at 2,629.27 with  a loss of –0.01% percent or –0.30 point. The Nasdaq Composite are trading at 6,776.38 for up with +0.21% percent or +14.16 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 22,498.03 for up with +1.45% percent or  +320.99 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 28,282.96 for up with +0.22% percent or +62.48 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,272.05 with a loss of –0.67% percent or –21.91 point. India’s BSE Sensex are trading at 32,802.74 for up with +0.62% percent or  +203.04 point at 12:15 PM.
