UK PRE MARKET

The FTSE 100 Futures are trading at 7,257.20 with a loss of -0.31% percent or -22.30 point. The CAC 40 Futures are trading at 5,277.50  with a loss of  -0.01%  percent or -0.50  point . The DAX Futures are trading at 12,660.50 for up with +0.08% percent or +9.50 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures are trading at 3,543.00  for up with  +0.65% percent or +23.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

London closed higher on Wednesday, while the pound lost some ground against the dollar, as investors digested the latest reading on retail sales.The FTSE 100 was up 0.38% to 7,313.51, while the pound was down 0.36% against the greenback at 1.3410, off earlier lows but with the dollar still underpinned by hawkish comments from Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen.

The top-flight index tends to benefit from a weaker pound, as around 70% of its constituents derive most of their earnings from overseas.

Stocks in Europe continued to stay upbeat with the DAX up 0.41% to 12,657.41, the CAC 40 0.25% firmer at 5,281.96 and the IBEX 35 gaining 1.75% to 10,368.90.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 20,363.11 for up  with +0.47% percent or +96.06 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 27,460.95   with a loss of  –0.66% percent or – 181.48 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,339.64   with a loss of  –0.17% percent or  –5.63 point. India’s BSE Sensex are trading at 31,182.97  for up with  +0.07%  percent or +23.16 point at 12:15 PM .
