FTSE Futures Morning Update on 26 September


The FTSE 100 Futures are trading at 7,257.20 for up with +0.01% percent or +0.70 point. The CAC 40 Futures are trading at 5,266.50  for up with +0.06%  percent or +3.00 point . The DAX Futures are trading at 12,611.50  for up with +0.23% percent or +28.50 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures are trading at 3,528.00  for up with  +0.03% percent or +1.00 point.


London stocks edged lower in early trade on Tuesday amid growing tensions between the US and North Korea, as the pound continued to grain ground.At 0840 BST, the FTSE 100 was down 0.2% to 7,289.08, as sterling rose 0.4% against the euro to 1.1406 and 0.2% versus the dollar to 1.3498.

“Part of the UK index’s decline will stem from sterling’s rise,” said Spreadex analyst Connor Campbell, pointing out that the euro has taken a hit from the German election while the greenback is weakening on the back of US tensions with North Korea.

North Korea’s foreign Minister Ri-Yong accused the US on Monday of declaring war on the country, a statement the White House later dismissed as “absurd”.


For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 7,299.65  with a loss of –0.02% percent or –1.64 point. France’s CAC 40 closed at 5,271.11  for up with  +0.07% percent or  +3.93 point. Germany’s DAX closed at 12,623.40  for up with  +0.23% percent or +28.59  point.


For the day the Dow are trading at 22,296.09  with a loss of  –0.24% percent or –53.50 point. The S&P 500 are trading at 2,496.66   with a loss of –0.22% percent or  –5.56 point. The Nasdaq Composite are trading at 6,370.59  with a loss of –0.88% percent or –56.33 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 20,330.19  with a loss of -0.33% percent or -67.39 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 27,513.01  for up with +0.05% percent or  +12.67 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,343.58  for up with + 0.06% percent or  +2.03 point. India’s BSE Sensex are trading at 31,599.76  with  a loss of –0.08%  percent or –26.87 point at 12:15 PM .
