The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 6,061.80  with a loss of -0.51% percent or -31.20  point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 4,829.50  with a loss of -0.21% percent or -10.00 point. The DAX Futures is trading at 12,084.20 with a loss of -0.22% or -27.00 point. The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures trading at 3,178.00 with 0.00% percent or 0.00 point.


Sterling was weaker against its major trading pairs, last falling 0.75% against the dollar to USD 1.2426, and sliding 0.37% on the euro to €1.1031.

“One of the reasons investors are quite so distressed is that Bloomberg has reported the US is preparing to slap tariffs on $3.1bn worth of goods from the UK, Spain, France and Germany, as it gears up for a summer showdown with the European Union,” said Spreadex financial analyst Connor Campbell.


For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 6,123.69 with a loss of –3.11% percent or –196.43   point. France’s CAC  40 closed at 4,871.36  with a loss of –2.92% percent or –146.32 point.Germany’s DAX closed at 12,093.94 with a loss of -3.43%percent or –429.82 point.


For the day the Dow is trading at 25,445.94  with a loss of -2.72% percent or -710.16 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 3,050.33  with a loss of –2.59%percent or -80.96  point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 9,909.17 with a loss of -2.19% percent or -222.20  point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at at 22,259.79  with a loss of –1.22% percent or –274.53  point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 24,781.58 with a loss of –0.50% percent or –125.76  point. China’s Shanghai  Composite is trading at 2,979.55 up with +0.30% percent or +8.93  point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 34,714.60 with a loss of -0.44%  percent or –154.38  point at 12:15 PM.
