A rising tide into year end on Wall Street lifted shares on the Continent even higher with just one or two trading sessions left to go in 2019.
The main US stock market gauges hit fresh record highs during the previous session and for the most part were adding to those gains at the end of the week.
Brent crude oil futures also rose, adding 0.22% to reach $68.07 a barrel on ICE. Boosting prices, two days earlier, the American Petroleum Institute had reported a large 7.9m barrel drawdown in the country’s oil stockpiles over the preceding week.
