FTSE Futures Morning Update on 17 oct. 2019

The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,160.20  up with +0.17% percent or +12.20 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,683.50 with  a loss of -0.23% percent or -13.00 point. The DAX Futures is trading at 12,640.80 with a loss of -0.19% percent or -24.10 point. The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures trading at 3,584.00  with 0.00% percent or 0.00 point.


Despite the lack of clarity on exactly how Johnson plans to get a deal across the line, there is a growing confidence that Johnson wants a deal despite previous fears that a no-deal Brexit is his primary aim […] it is evident that traders are more confident than ever that a no-deal Brexit is going to be avoided,” said IG’s Josh Mahony.

And earlier in the session, analysts at Barclays Research told clients: “A Brexit breakthrough seems increasingly likely and could boost sentiment towards domestic Europe, particularly Financials. While headline risks remain elevated on both fronts, we think it is prudent to cut some of our defensive hedges and add to UK domestics.”


For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 7,167.95 with a loss of –0.61% percent or –43.69 point. France’s CAC  40 closed at 5,696.90 with  a loss of –0.090% percent or –5.14 point.Germany’s DAX closed at 12,670.11 up with +0.32% percent or +40.32   point.


For the day the Dow is trading at 27,001.98 with a loss of –0.084% percent or  –22.82  point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,989.69  with a loss  –0.20% percent or –5.99 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 8,124.18  with a loss of –0.30% percent or –24.52 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 22,451.86 with a loss of –0.094% percent or –21.06 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 26,789.32 up with +0.47% percent or +125.04 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,975.18 with a loss of –0.12% percent or –3.54  point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 38,662.21 up with +0.16% percent or +63.22 point at 12:15 PM.
