 London stocks were set for more losses on Thursday as worries about a global slowdown and escalating trade tensions dented sentiment.

The FTSE 100 was called to open 23 points lower at 7,099.

CMC Markets analyst David Madden said: “Stocks in Asia traded lower overnight as the US announced $7.5 billion worth of tariffs on EU goods like aircrafts as well as agricultural products.
