FTSE Futures Morning Update on 09 July 2019

The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,478.80 with a loss of -0.16% percent or -11.70 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,572.56  with a loss of -0.30% percent or -16.63 point. The DAX Futures is trading at 12,440.50  with a loss of -0.41% percent or -51.60 point. The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures trading at 3,504.00 with a loss of  -0.23% percent or -8.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

London stocks were set to edge lower at the open on Tuesday as investors eyed a testimony by Federal Reserve chairman Jerome Powell.

The FTSE 100 was called to open 13 points lower at 7,536.

Ipek Ozkardeskaya, senior market analyst at London Capital Group, said: \”Fed Governor Jerome Powell is due to speak at an event hosted by Boston Fed today and his remarks will be under close watch ahead of his semiannual testimony before the congress on Wednesday and the FOMC minutes. Fed\’s Bullard and Quarles will also speak today.

PREVIOUS DAY ACTIVITY

For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 7,545.29   with a loss of -0.053% percent or -3.98 point. France’s CAC  40 closed at 5,579.67  with a loss of -0.17% percent or -9.52 point.Germany’s DAX closed at 12,465.93 with a loss of -0.61% percent or -77.06 point.

WORLD MARKETS

For the day the Dow is trading at 26,806.14  with a loss of -0.43% percent or -115.98 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,975.95 with a loss of -0.48% percent or -14.46 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 8,098.38 with a loss of -0.78% percent or -63.41 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 21,565.15 up with +0.14% percent or +30.80 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 28,120.78 with a loss of -0.74% percent or -210.91 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,928.23  with a loss of -0.18% percent or -5.13 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 38,699.99  with a loss of -0.053% percent or -20.40 point at 12:15 PM.
