FTSE Futures Morning Update on 18 June 2019

The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,298.20  with a loss of -0.90% percent or -66.30 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,373.20  with a loss of -0.25% percent or -13.30 point. The DAX Futures is trading at 12,070.30   with a loss of -0.23% percent or -27.30 point. The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures trading at 3,368.00  with a loss of -0.06% percent or -2.00 point.


London stocks were set to edge higher at the open on Tuesday, with investors likely to remain cautious ahead of policy announcements from the Federal Reserve and the Bank of England this week.

The FTSE 100 was called to open 11 points higher at 7,368.

Ipek Ozkardeskaya, senior market analyst at London Capital Group, said: “The Fed will give its policy verdict on Wednesday and is expected to maintain its policy unchanged. However, markets are obsessed with the Fed’s next move, since the Fed Governor Jerome Powell said that they are ready to cut the interest rates, if needed. The Fed expectations sharply moved from ‘patient’ to two-to-three rate cuts within the next twelve months.


For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 7,366.98  up with +0.12% percent or +8.89 point. France’s CAC  40 closed at 5,390.95 up with +0.43% percent or +23.34 point.Germany’s DAX closed at 12,085.82  with a loss of -0.09% percent or -10.58 point.


For the day the Dow is trading at 26,112.53 up with +0.088% percent or +22.92  point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,889.67 up with +0.093% percent or +2.69 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,845.02   up with +0.62% percent or +48.37 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 20,972.71 with a loss of -0.72% percent or -151.29 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 27,537.29  up with +1.14% percent or +310.13    point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,890.16  up with +0.088% percent or +2.54  point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 39,133.59 up with +0.44% percent or +172.80 point at 12:15 PM.
