FTSE Futures Morning Update on 05 March 2019

The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,121.20  with +0.20% percent or +14.30 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,277.00  up with +0.27% percent or +14.00 point. The DAX Futures is trading at 11,567.80 up with +0.13%  percent or +15.10 point. The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures trading at 3,314.00 up with +0.12% percent or +4.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

London stocks edged higher at the start of the week as sterling eased back against the Greenback after the release of weak UK construction data, with sentiment underpinned by growing optimism about a trade deal between the US and China.

The FTSE 100 was 0.39% higher at 7,134.39, while the pound was just 0.12%lower against the US dollar at 1.31862 and 0.3% firmer against the euro at 1.1649. Sterling had been trading up against the dollar earlier as investors cheered news that Conservative party grandee Graham Brady is ready to drop his opposition to Theresa May’s Brexit deal.

PREVIOUS DAY ACTIVITY

For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 7,134.39  up with +0.39% percent or +27.66 point. France’s CAC  40 closed at 5,286.57  up with +0.41% percent or ++21.38 point. Germany’s DAX closed at 11,592.66  with a loss of -0.078% percent or -9.02 point.

WORLD MARKETS

For the day the Dow is trading at 25,819.65 with a loss of -0.79% percent or -206.67 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,792.81 with a loss of -0.39% percent or -10.88 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,577.57  with a loss of -0.23% percent or -17.79 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 21,726.28   with a loss of -0.44% percent or -95.76 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 28,973.99  up with +0.050% percent or +14.40 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 3,053.28  up with +0.85% percent or +25.71 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 36,159.29 up with +0.26% percent or +95.48 point at 12:15 PM.
