FTSE Futures Morning Update on 26 February 2019

The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,083.50  with a loss of -1.04% percent or -74.50 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,214.80  with a loss of -0.29% percent or -15.20 point. The DAX Futures is trading at 11,470.80  up with +0.04% percent or +4.80 point. The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures trading at 3,269.50  up with +0.08% percent or +2.50 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

Chinese Vice Premier Liu He is due to meet President Trump at the White House on Friday following reports that both sides have started to outline commitments in principle six issues that could halt a trade war.

IG market analyst Joshua Mahony said: “There is a certain degree of optimism which centres around the growing feeling that we are closing in on some form of resolution in talks between the US and China. Donald Trump is now scheduled to meet with the top Chinese negotiator, Liu He, raising hopes that the hardest issues are going to be ironed out by the president himself.”

Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 28,772.06   with a loss of -0.65% percent or -187.24 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,941.52 with a loss of -0.67% percent or -19.77 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 35,973.71 with a loss of -0.66% percent or -239.67 point at 12:15 PM.
