FTSE Futures Morning Update on 28 January 2019

The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 6,722.20 with -0.39% percent or -26.30 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 4,895.50  with a loss of -0.56% percent or -27.50 point. The DAX Futures is trading at 11,225.00  with a loss of -0.31% percent or -34.80 point. The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures trading at 3,139.50  with a loss of -0.25% percent or -8.00 point.


European stocks were firmly in the green on Friday as investors shrugged off a weak reading on German business sentiment and concerns about trade relations between the US and China.

By the end of trading, the benchmark Stoxx Europe 600 index was up 0.61%or 2.17 points to 357.84, Germany’s DAX was 1.36% higher at 11,281.79 and France’s CAC 40 had gained 1.11% to 4,925.82.

Meanwhile, Sino-US relations remained in focus as investors digested conflicting signals.

US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross warned that the US and China were “miles and miles” away from ending their trade dispute. However, he also said that there was a fair chance that China will get a trade deal. Meanwhile, Trump’s economic advisor Larry Kudlow said the US president is optimistic on trade talks.


For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 6,809.22 with a loss of -0.14% percent or -9.73 point. France’s CAC  40 closed at 4,925.82 up with +1.11% percent or +53.86 point. Germany’s DAX closed at 11,281.79 up with +1.36% percent or +151.61 point.


For the day the Dow is trading at 24,737.20  up with +0.75% percent or +183.96 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,664.76 up with +0.85% percent or +22.43 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,164.86 up with +1.29% percent or +91.40 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 20,649.00  with a loss of -0.60% percent or -124.56 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 27,554.06  with a loss of -0.055% percent or -15.13 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,596.98  with a loss of -0.18% percent or -4.75 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 35,689.85  with a loss of -0.93% percent or -335.69 point at 12:15 PM.
