FTSE Futures Morning Update on 20 December

The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 6,599.80  with a loss of -0.23% percent or -15.20 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 4,718.80 with a loss of  -0.07% percent or -3.40  point The DAX Futures is trading at 10,637.00  with a loss of -1.27% percent or -137.00 point. The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures trading at 2,998.50  with a loss of -0.10% percent or -3.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

London stocks rose on Wednesday, bouncing back from the previous session’s losses with GlaxoSmithKline in the lead on news of a tie-up with Pfizer, as investors digested inflation data and looked ahead to the US Federal Reserve’s policy announcement.

The consumer prices index was 2.2% in November, down from 2.3% in October and the lowest since March 2017. Including home occupiers’ housing costs, the rate was 2.2%, unchanged on the previous month. Core inflation, which strips out volatile energy prices, eased to 1.8% from 1.9%.

Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 25,585.37  with a loss of -1.08% percent or -280.02 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,536.27  with a loss of -0.52% percent or  -13.30 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 36,375.02 with a loss of  -0.30% percent or -109.31 point at 12:15 PM.
