FTSE Futures Morning Update on 25 September


The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,420.50 up with +0.05% percent or +3.50 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,467.00 up with  +0.05% percent or +3.00 point . The DAX Futures is trading at 12,346.00 up with  +0.02% percent or +2.50 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures is trading at 3,397.00 up with +0.15% percent or +5.00 point.


London stocks finished lower on today, as miners slipped on China’s withdrawal from trade talks, but oil prices hit a four-year high and Sky surged after Comcast outbid Fox for the broadcaster.

The FTSE 100 fell 0.42% or 31.82 points to trade at 7,458,41, while the pound was up 0.36% versus the dollar at 1.31227 and up 0.13% against the euro to 1.1148.

Traders were looking east after China cancelled the latest round of US trade talks, bolstering trade war concerns, just as new US tariffs were due to begin. Beijing declined an invitation to explore further trade talks at the weekend, summoning Washington’s ambassador to Beijing to protest over Russia-related sanctions imposed on a Chinese general.


For the day the FTSE 100 closed at  7,458.41 with a loss of  -0.42% percent or  -31.82 point. France’s CAC 40 closed at 5,476.17  with  a loss of -0.33% percent or ?18.00 point. Germany’s DAX closed at 12,350.82 with a loss of -0.64%    percent or -80.06 point.


For the day the Dow is trading at 26,562.05  with a loss of  -0.68%  percent or -181.45 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,919.37 with a loss of -0.35% percent or -10.30 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,993.25   up with  +0.079%percent or +6.29 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 23,940.26 up with +0.29% percent or +70.33 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 27,499.39 with a loss of – 1.62% percent or  -454.19 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,778.55  with a loss of  -0.68% percent or  -18.93 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 36,396.40 up with  +0.28% percent or +101.83 point at 12:15 PM.
