FTSE Futures Morning Update on 20 September


The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,296.00 with a loss of  -0.11% percent or  -8.20 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,390.50 up with  +0.06% percent or +3.00 point . The DAX Futures is trading at 12,212.00   with a loss of -0.06% percent or -7.00 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures is trading at 3,351.00 up with  +0.03% percent or +1.00 point.


European stocks saw across-the-board gains on Thursday, underpinned by a solid performance from the basic resources sector, as investors’ apprehension around global trade talks eased a bit, although many analysts remained quite cautious.

“China can afford to play a much longer game, particularly when it comes to the US electoral cycle. President Xi will be around long after Donald Trump has departed the White House. China’s economy may well be slowing down, but it is still growing at a decent pace, and the Chinese could make it very difficult for US companies operating in China by disrupting their supply chains, by implementing additional customs costs, or checks, with Apple being particularly vulnerable,” said Michael Hewson, chief market analyst at CMC Markets UK.


For the day the FTSE 100 closed at  7,331.12 up with  +0.42% percent or  +30.89 point. France’s CAC 40 closed at 5,393.74 up with +0.56% percent or +29.95 point. Germany’s DAX closed at 12,219.02  up  with +0.50%             percent or +61.35 point.


For the day the Dow is trading at 26,405.76  up with +0.61% percent or +158.80 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,907.95 up with  +0.13% percent or +3.64 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,950.04  with a loss of -0.076% percent or -6.07 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 23,674.93 up with +0.010% percent or +2.41 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 27,400.85   with a loss of -0.024% percent or  -6.52 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,728.33  with a loss of -0.092% percent or  -2.53 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 37,121.22 with  a loss of -0.45%  percent or -169.45  point at 12:15 PM.
