FTSE Futures Morning Update on 05 September

UK PRE MARKET

The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,432.00 with a loss of  -0.27% percent or -20.00 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,315.00  with a loss of -0.64% percent or -34.50 point . The DAX Futures is trading at 12,133.50  with a loss of -0.58% percent or -71.00 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures is trading at 3,343.00 with a loss of -0.45% percent or -15.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

Two companies with the name Smith are in the top five risers on the London Stock Exchange.

Packaging company DS Smith is up about 1.5%, and engineers Smiths Group are at 0.95%.

DS Smith released an upbeat trading update this morning, while the latter company is reportedly subject to a takeover bid.

At the other end of the FTSE 100, WPP is a far outlier, having shed a whole 8%. The next biggest loser is Just Eat, trading 1.9% lower.
