FTSE Futures Morning Update on 03 August

UK PRE MARKET

The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,540.50 with a loss of -0.64% percent or -48.50 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,460.32  with a loss of -0.012% percent or –0.66 point . The DAX Futures is trading at 12,567.50 up with +0.28% percent or +35.00 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures is trading at 3,467.00 up with +0.06% percent or +2.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

The pound fell on today despite the Bank of England lifting interest rates from crisis-era lows, after Governor Mark Carney said monetary policy needed to “walk not run” and expressed concern about the risks of a cliff-edge Brexit.

The move raising 25 basis points to 0.75% was widely expected, although the unanimous decision of the BoE’s nine rate-setters was not.

The market initially took that unanimity as a more hawkish-than-expected sign.

For the day the Dow is trading at 25,326.16 with a loss of -0.030% percent or -7.66 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,827.22 up with +0.49% percent or +13.86 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,802.68 up with +1.24% percent or +95.40 point.

Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 27,676.42 with a loss of -0.14% percent or  -38.14 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,740.44 with a loss of -1.00% percent or -27.58  point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 37,477.19 up with +0.84% percent or +312.03 point at 12:15 PM.
