FTSE Futures Morning Update on 06 August


The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,593.00 with a loss of -0.17% percent or -13.00 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,473.95  with a loss of -0.092% percent or -5.02 point . The DAX Futures is trading at 12,576.50  with  a loss of -0.28% percent or -35.00 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures is trading at 3,481.00 with +0.00% percent or +0.00 point.


Sales of products to stop pets overheating, such as paddling pools and special cooling vests, jumped while its vet services division enjoyed an 18pc surge in revenue, helping to vindicate its new low-price strategy. The pets products store’s overall first-quarter revenue advanced 9.1pc to £277.4m.

New boss Peter Pritchard, who has promised to return the company to growth, said Pets at Home was “capitalising on the hot weather”. But he warned that the firm still needs “a sharpening of focus”.

Upgrading it to “hold”, Liberum argued that four consecutive quarters of like-for-like sales growth above 5pc raised questions over whether earnings had now bottomed out.


For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 7,654.95  with a loss of -0.054% percent or -4.15 point. France’s CAC 40 closed at 5,472.51  with a loss of  -0.12% percent or -6.46 point. Germany’s DAX closed at 12,580.78  with a loss of -0.28% percent or -34.98 point.


For the day the Dow is trading at 25,462.58 up with +0.54% percent or +136.42 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,840.35 up with +0.46% percent or +13.13 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,812.01 up with +0.12% percent or +9.33 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 22,507.32  with a loss of -0.079% percent or -17.86 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 27,820.17 up with +0.52% percent or  +143.85 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,705.16 with a loss of -1.29% percent or -35.29  point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 37,735.49 up with +0.48% percent or +179.33 point at 12:15 PM.
