FTSE Futures Morning Update on 01 August

UK PRE MARKET

The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,637.50 with a loss of -0.85% percent or -65.50 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,516.32 up with +0.091% percent or +5.03 point . The DAX Futures is trading at 12,780.00 with a loss of –0.27% percent or -34.50 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures is trading at 3,519.00 with a loss of  -0.17% percent or -6.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

Precious metals miner Fresnillo (pictured) is now leading the blue chip risers, with its share price up 2.6% at £10.24 after reporting strong interim results.

Just Eat is now the biggest faller on the FTSE 100, down 5.1% at 802.8p.

The FTSE 250 is now trading lower, down 2.99 points at 20,875.26.

After taking steps to restructure the business, Provident Financial’s shares are flying and are up 13.26% at 699.1p on a positive update today.

Travis Perkins, however, continues to lead the biggest fallers on the FTSE 250, down 11% at £11.92.

For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 7,695.60 with a loss of -0.69% percent or -53.16 point. France’s CAC 40 closed at 5,513.53 up with +0.041% percent or +2.24 point. Germany’s DAX closed at 12,782.06  with  a loss of -0.18%percent or -23.44 point.

WORLD MARKETS

For the day the Dow is trading at 25,415.19 up with +0.43% percent or +108.36 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,816.29  up with +0.49% percent or +13.69 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,671.79 up with +0.49% percent or +0.55% point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 22,746.70 up with +0.86% percent or+192.98 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 28,261.20 with a loss of -1.13% percent or  -321.81 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,824.53with a loss of -1.80% percent or -51.87  point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 37,534.70 with a loss of -0.19% percent or  -71.88 point at 12:15 PM.
