FTSE Futures Morning Update on 31 July

UK PRE MARKET

The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,648.00 up with +0.07% percent or +5.00 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,493.10 up with +0.034% percent or +1.88 point . The DAX Futures is trading at 12,799.50 with a loss of -0.01% percent or -1.50 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures is trading at 3,512.00 up with +0.06% percent or +2.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

The FTSE continued to lurk the wrong side of 7700, its 0.4% decline trapping it in the trading bracket the index has found itself in for most of July. The pound, meanwhile, managed to take a tentative 0.1% off the dollar, pushing cable towards $1.3125, only to shed the same amount against the euro, sending it under €1.1235 against its single currency rival.

Like the FTSE, the eurozone indices remained in the red as the day went on. The DAX dove just shy of 50 points, though the German index is still in the ballpark of its recent 6 week highs, while the CAC slipped 0.3%, taking it under 5500.

For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 7,709.98 up with +0.12% percent or +9.13 point. France’s CAC 40 closed at 5,493.09 up with +0.034% percent or +1.87 point. Germany’s DAX closed at 12,817.61 up with +0.15%percent or +19.41 point.

For the day the Dow is trading at 25,306.83 with a loss of -0.57% percent or -144.23 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,802.60  with a loss of -0.58% percent or -16.22 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,630.00 with a loss of -1.39% percent or -107.42 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 22,553.72 up with +0.039% percent or+8.88 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 28,604.76 with a loss of -0.45% percent or  -128.37 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,876.40 up with +0.26% percent or +7.35  point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 37,429.71 with a loss of – 0.17% percent or  -64.69  point at 12:15 PM.
