FTSE Futures Morning Update on 18 July

UK PRE MARKET

The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,599.00 up with +0.34% percent or +26.00 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,422.54 up with  +0.24% percent or  +13.12 point . The DAX Futures is trading at +0.27% up with +0.36% percent or +0.27% point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures is trading at 3,461.00 up with +0.26% percent or +9.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

London stocks were set for a downbeat open on Monday following the release of a slew of Chinese data and as investors look to the Commons vote on the Customs Bill.

The FTSE 100 was called to open 10 points lower at 7,659.

CMC Markets analyst Michael Hewson said: “Having seen a positive end to the week for US stocks Asia markets have traded lower with the latest Chinese data showing that the Chinese economy slowed modestly in Q2 coming in at 6.7%, as concerns about the trade war with the US acting as a drag in output, along with a slow down on investment spending as fixed asset investment slowed to 6% from 6.1% in May.”

For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 7,626.33 up with +0.34% percent or +25.88 point. France’s CAC 40 closed at 5,422.54 up with +0.24% percent or +13.12 point. Germany’s DAX closed at 12,661.54 up with +0.80% percent or +100.52 point.

For the day the Dow is trading at 25,119.89 up with +0.22% percent or +55.53 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,809.55 up with 0.40% percent or +11.12 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,855.12 up with 0.63%percent or +49.40 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 22,794.19 up with +0.43% percent or +96.83 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 28,104.40  with a loss of – 0.27% percent or  -77.28point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,794.67 with  a loss of -0.12% percent or -3.46 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 36,602.02 up with  + 0.22% percent or +82.06 point at 12:15 PM.
