UK PRE MARKET

The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,539.00  with a loss of  -1.27% percent or  -97.00 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,378.75  with  a loss of -1.02% percent or -55.60 point . The DAX Futures is trading at 12,435.00 with  a loss of -1.31% percent or -165.00 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures is trading at 3,429.00 with a loss of -1.07% percent or -37.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

London stocks were set for a downbeat open on Wednesday after the US announced plans to impose tariffs on an extra $200bn of Chinese goods.

The FTSE 100 was called to open 41 points lower at 7,651.

London Capital Group analyst Jasper Lawler said: “Overnight, that unnerving trade war silence from the White House, which allowed stocks across the globe to charge higher in recent sessions, was broken. The US upped the stakes in the trade war with China, sending equity markets tumbling, as risk off prevails.

For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 7,602.76 with  a loss of -1.16% percent or -89.28 point. France’s CAC 40 closed at 5,384.25  with a loss of -0.92% percent or -50.10 point. Germany’s DAX closed at 12,461.85 with a loss of -1.17% percent or -148.00 point.

For the day the Dow is trading at 24,919.66 up with +0.58% percent or +143.07 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,793.84 up with +0.35% percent or +9.67 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,759.20 up with +0.039% percent or  +3.00 point.
