The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,728.00 up with +0.65% percent or +50.00 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,457.56 with a loss of  –0.062% percent or  –3.38 point . The DAX Futures is trading at 12,890.50 up  with  +0.79% percent or +101.00 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures is trading at 3,472.00 up with +0.49% percent or      + 17.00 point.


London stocks regained some ground on Wednesday as commodity stocks were boosted by a weaker dollar, encouraging sounds from China-US trade talks and the euro spiking on hawkish comments out of the European Central Bank.

The FTSE 100 added 25.57 points or 0.33% to hit 7,712.37, despite the pressure from higher sterling, which was up 0.18% against the dollar at 1.3414.

Some progress was emerging from US-China trade talks, with Beijing offering to buy $70bn worth of US goods in exchange for having no further tariffs imposed on Chinese imports, with the White House working on a deal to allow tech giant ZTE to resume operations and perhaps also calling off the planned tariffs on Chinese goods.

For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 7,712.37 up with +0.33% percent or  +25.57 point. France’s CAC 40 closed at 5,457.56 with a loss of –0.062% percent or –3.38 point. Germany’s DAX closed at 12,830.07 up with +0.34% percent or  +42.94 point.


For the day the Dow is trading at 25,098.44 with +1.20% percent or +298.46 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,766.96 up with  +0.66% percent or  +18.16 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,675.60 up with +0.49% percent or  +37.74 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 22,625.73 up with +0.38% percent or +86.19 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 31,259.10 up with +0.53% percent or +165.65 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 3,115.18  up with +0.031% percent or +0.97 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 35,178.88 up with +0.79% percent or  275.67 point at 12:15 PM.
