FTSE Futures Morning Update on 14 May

UK PRE MARKET

The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,697.00 up  with +0.20% percent or +15.50 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,538.00  with a loss of -0.01% percent or -0.50 point . The DAX Futures is trading at 13,016.00 up with  +0.10% percent or +13.50 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures is trading at 3,533.00 up with +0.08%  percent or +3.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

London stocks were set for a muted open on Monday despite Asian gains, with the stronger pound likely to weigh.

The FTSE 100 was called to open two points lower at 7,722.

London Capital Group analyst Jasper Lawler said: “The currency correlation between the FTSE and the pound has been notably strong over the last week. Given the pound is already up 0.2% in early trade, the FTSE is expected to struggle on the open, lagging behind its European peers.”

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 22,865.86 up with +0.47% percent or +107.38 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 31,492.11 up  with +1.19% percent or +368.80 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 3,174.03 up with +0.34% percent or +10.77 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 35,507.98  with a loss of – 0.078% percent or -27.81  point at 12:15 PM.
