FTSE Futures Morning Update on 11 May

UK PRE MARKET

The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,679.50  with a loss of  -0.03% percent or  -2.00 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,525.50 up with +0.24% percent or +13.50 point . The DAX Futures is trading at 13,023.00  with a loss of -0.01% percent or -1.50 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures is trading at 3,532.00 up with +0.11%  percent or +4.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

London stocks were set to rise at the open on Friday, taking their cue from a positive session on Wall Street.

The FTSE 100 was called to open 12 points higher at 7,713.

CMC Markets analyst Michael Hewson said: “The pound had a pretty disappointing day yesterday, coming under pressure over a combination of multiple downgrades in the UK’s growth as well as inflation outlook, after the Bank of England kept rates on hold. There was a distinctly more dovish flavour to the narrative even though the voting arithmetic remained split 7-2 with both Ian McCafferty and Michael Saunders maintaining their calls for an increase in rates.

WORLD MARKETS

For the day the Dow is trading at 24,739.53 up with +0.80% percent or +196.99 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,723.07 up with +0.94% percent or +25.28 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,404.97  up  with  +0.89% percent or +65.07 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 22,758.48 up with +1.16% percent or +261.30 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 31,119.25 up  with +1.00% percent or +309.36 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 3,163.26   with  a loss of  -0.35% percent or -11.15 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 35,355.42 up with +0.31% percent or +109.15  point at 12:15 PM.
