FTSE Futures Morning Update on 27 April

UK PRE MARKET

The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,389.50 up with  +0.86% percent or +63.00 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,412.50 up  with +0.89% percent or +48.00 point . The DAX Futures is trading at 12,570.50 up with +0.47% percent or +59.00 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures is trading at 3,447.00  up with +0.15%  percent or +5.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

London stocks shook off a sluggish start on Friday to recover most of the previous day’s losses as utilities rose as bond yields retreated and Wall Street rallied.

The FTSE 100 gained 42.11 or 0.57% by the close to 7,421.43, while the pound was up 0.4% the euro at 1.1496 and fell, then rose, then fall to end flat against the greenback at 1.3927. Oil prices recovered the previous day’s dip, with Brent crude up 0.5% at $74.41.

Sterling gained against the euro as European Central Bank made no changes to policy and bank president Mario Draghi said policymakers “did not discuss monetary policy per se” and insisted the bank could remain accommodative well past September.

For the day the Dow is trading at 24,322.34 up with +0.99% percent or +238.51 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,666.94 up with +1.04% percent or +27.54  point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,118.68 up with +1.64% percent or +114.94 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 22,467.87 up with +0.66% percent or +148.26 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 30,221.74  up with +0.71% percent or +214.06  point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 3,081.00 up with +0.19% percent or  +5.97 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 34,952.32 up with +0.69% percent or +238.72  point at 12:15 PM.
