FTSE Futures Morning Update on 26 April

UK PRE MARKET

The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,330.00 up with  +0.05% percent or +3.50 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,369.00  with a loss of -0.42% percent or -22.50 point . The DAX Futures is trading at 12,429.50 up with +0.04% percent or +5.50 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures is trading at 3,418.00  up with +0.03%  percent or +1.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

London stocks fell further into the red on Thursday, taking their cue from a sell-off on Wall Street amid rising government bond yields in the States, despite higher takeover offers boosting Sky and Shire.

Nevertheless, while the FTSE 100 was down 0.62% to 7,379.32, it did manage to finish off its lows of the session.

In parallel, the pound was again lower, trading off by 0.3% against the dollar at 1.3936 but was 0.17% higher versus the euro to 1.1446.

Ten-year Gilts on the other hand were little changed, with their yield repeating for another day at 1.1446%.

WORLD MARKETS

For the day the Dow is trading at 24,083.83 up with +0.25% percent or +59.70 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,639.40 up with +0.18% percent or +4.84  point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,003.74 with a loss of -0.052% percent or -3.62 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 22,319.61 up with +0.47% percent or +104.29  point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 29,910.72  with a loss of -1.38% percent or -418.36  point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 3,072.48  with a loss of -1.46% percent or  -45.50 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 34,545.78 up with +0.13% percent or +44.51  point at 12:15 PM.
