The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,356.00 up with  +0.64% percent or +47.00 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,383.50  up with +0.52% percent or +28.00 point . The DAX Futures is trading at 12,612.50 up with +0.15% percent or +18.50 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures is trading at 3,440.00  with 0.00%  percent or 0.00 point.


London stocks finished higher as the pound fell to its worst level in five weeks against the dollar, as an easing in geopolitical and trade tensions and optimism around the outlook for corporate earnings in the States and in euroland buoyed stockmarkets around the world.

All of the above also helped to offset the impact of rising government bond yields on shares’ valuations.

By the closing bell, the FTSE 100 was up by 0.42% or 30.70 points to 7,398.87, while the pound was ahead by 0.25% versus the euro at 1.1422 but 0.35% weaker versus the greenback at 1.3953, weighed down by reports of a potential cabinet revolt.

For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 7,398.87 up with +0.42% percent or +30.70 point. France’s CAC 40 closed at 5,438.55 up with +0.48% percent or +25.73 point. Germany’s DAX closed at 12,572.39 up with +0.25% percent or +31.89 point.


For the day the Dow is trading at 24,448.69  with a loss of  -0.058% percent or ?14.25 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,670.29  up with +0.0056% percent or +0.15 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,128.60 with a loss of -0.25% percent or ?17.52 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 22,278.12 up with +0.86% percent or +190.08  point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 30,511.07 up with +0.85% percent or +256.67  point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 3,120.67 up with +1.72% percent or  +52.66 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 34,575.40 up with +0.36% percent or +124.63  point at 12:15 PM.
