FTSE Futures Morning Update on 29 March

UK PRE MARKET

The FTSE 100 Futures are trading at 6,976.50 for up with +0.48% percent or +33.00 point. The CAC 40 Futures are trading at 5,132.50 for up  with +0.29% percent or +15.00 point . The DAX Futures are trading at 11,989.50  for up with +0.57% percent or +68.50 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures are trading at 3,255.00   for up with +0.62%  percent or +20.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

London stocks edged higher in early trade in what was shaping up to be a fairly busy day in terms of news flow as we head into the long Easter weekend.

At 0820 BST, the FTSE 100 was up 0.2% to 7,059.23, while the pound was down 0.1% versus the euro and the dollar at 1.1422 and 1.4057, respectively.

Lee Wild, head of equity strategy at Interactive Investor, said: “The FTSE 100has recouped some if its recent losses this week, but the index really has just scratched the surface and remains more than 10% down from January’s record high, and still firmly in correction territory.”

For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 7,052.76  for up with +0.11% percent or  +8.02 point. France’s CAC 40 closed at 5,146.13 for up with +0.31% percent or +15.69 point. Germany’s DAX closed at 11,999.96  for up with +0.50% percent or +59.25 point.

WORLD MARKETS

For the day the Dow are trading at 23,848.42 with a loss of -0.04% percent or -9.29  point. The S&P 500 are trading at 2,605.00 with a loss of -0.29% percent or  -7.62 point. The Nasdaq Composite are trading at 6,949.23  with a loss of -0.85% percent or -59.58 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 21,159.08  for up with +0.61% percent or  +127.77 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 30,093.38  for up with +0.24% percent or +70.85 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,160.53 for up  with +1.22% percent or  +38.24 point. India’s BSE Sensex are trading at 32,968.68 with a loss of -0.62% percent or  -205.71 point at 12:15 PM.
