The FTSE 100 Futures are trading at 6,799.00 with a loss of -0.92% percent or -63.00 point. The CAC 40 Futures are trading at 5,167.21 with a loss of -1.38% percent or -72.53 point . The DAX Futures are trading at 12,087.00 with a loss of -1.82% percent or -223.50 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures are trading at 3,253.00 with a loss of —1.75% percent or -58.00 point.
TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS
London stocks fell their lowest close since late 2016 as the pound held its gains after the Bank of England left the door open for a May rate rise, while miners and retailers leading the falls.
The FTSE 100 finished Friday’s session down 86.38 points or 1.23% at 6,952.59, the first close below 7,000 in 15 months, but coming off a new intra-day low of 6,914.45 in the last half hour.
The pound had earlier spiked higher after the BoE voted to keep interest rates on hold at 0.5%, as widely expected. But sterling later fell flat against the euro at 1.1462 and was down 0.3% on the dollar at 1.4094, having topped 1.42 earlier.
