FTSE Futures Morning Update on 08 March

UK PRE MARKET

The FTSE 100 Futures are trading at 7,158.50 for up  with +0.25% percent or  +18.00 point. The CAC 40 Futures are trading at 5,186.50 for up with +0.36% percent or +18.50 point . The DAX Futures are trading at 12,239.50 for up with +1.07% percent or +129.50 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures are trading at 3,377.00  for up with +0.60% percent or +20.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

London stocks finished higher on Thursday, helped by a stellar performance from Rolls-Royce, although the resignation of US President Trump’s chief economic advisor Gary Cohn and the prospect of a trade war kept investors on edge.

The FTSE 100 ended the day up by 0.16% to 7,157.84, while the pound was down 0.1% against the dollar at 1.3876 and essentially flat versus the euro at 1.1193.

Cohn, an advocate of free trade, quit over Trump’s decision to impose tariffs on steel and aluminium imports. His resignation was announced after the close of US markets on Thursday.

For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 7,157.84 for up with +0.16% percent or +11.09 point. France’s CAC 40 closed at 5,187.83  for up with  +0.34% percent or +17.61 point. Germany’s DAX closed at 12,245.36 for up with +1.09% percent or  +131.49 point.

WORLD MARKETS

For the day the Dow are trading at 24,801.36  with a loss of -0.33% percent or -82.76 point. The S&P 500 are trading at 2,726.80   with a loss of -0.05% percent or  -1.32 point. The Nasdaq Composite are trading at 7,396.65  for up with +0.33% percent or +24.64 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 21,368.07 for up  with  +0.54% percent or  +115.35 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 30,690.29 for up with +1.63% percent or  +493.37 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,288.41  for up with  +0.51% percent or +16.74 point. India’s BSE Sensex are trading at 33,253.37 for up with +0.67% percent or  +220.28  point at 12:15 PM.
