FTSE Futures Morning Update on 05 March

UK PRE MARKET

The FTSE 100 Futures are trading at 7,088.00  with a loss of  -0.85% percent or  -61.00 point. The CAC 40 Futures are trading at 5,135.00  with a loss of  -2.39% percent or -126.00 point . The DAX Futures are trading at 11,919.00 with a loss of  -1.94% percent or -235.50 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures are trading at 3,324.00  with a loss of -1.98% percent or -67.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

London stocks finished the week at their session lows as the White House’s pledge to slap tariffs on imports of steel and aluminium reverberated around the world.

It was against that backdrop that the Prime Minister called in her speech on both Brussels and the more hardline Brexiteers in her own Cabinet to show flexibility.

“We need to resolve the tensions between some of our key objectives. We both need to face the fact that this is a negotiation and neither of us can have exactly what we want,” May said in her speech in London.

For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 7,069.90 with a loss of -1.47% percent or -105.74 point. France’s CAC 40 closed at 5,136.58  with a loss of -2.39% percent or -125.97 point. Germany’s DAX closed at 11,913.71  with a loss of -2.27% percent or  -277.23 point.

WORLD MARKETS

For the day the Dow are trading at 24,538.06 with a loss of -0.29% percent or -70.92 point. The S&P 500 are trading at 2,691.25  for up with +0.51% percent or  +13.58 point. The Nasdaq Composite are trading at 7,257.87  for up with +1.08% percent or +77.31 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 21,042.09  with a loss of -0.66% percent or  -139.55 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 30,173.04   with a loss of -1.34% percent or -410.41 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,256.56 for up  with  +0.06% percent or +2.03 point. India’s BSE Sensex are trading at 33,722.25 with a loss of -0.95% percent or  -324.69  point at 12:15 PM.
