UK PRE MARKET

The FTSE 100 Futures are trading at 7,664.20  with  a loss of -0.14% percent or -10.60 point. The CAC 40 Futures are trading at 5,514.50  with a loss of -0.33%  percent or -18.00  point . The DAX Futures are trading at 13,352.20   with  a loss of  -0.23% percent or -31.30 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures are trading at 3,604.00  with a loss of -0.22%  percent or -8.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

 London stocks notched up a record closing high on Wednesday as retailers were boosted by a strong Christmas trading update from Morrisons and strong supermarket industry data.

The FTSE 100 closed 0.45% higher at 7,731.02, while the pound was down more than 0.3% versus the dollar at 1.3520.

Sterling was hit as EU Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier said the risk of a “disorderly Brexit” had increased, while a letter from Brexit Secretary David Davis to Theresa May revealed his concern that the EU “has adopted a number of measures that put agreements or contracts at risk of being terminated in the event of a ‘no deal’ scenario”.
