FTSE Futures Morning Update on 10 January


The FTSE 100 Futures are trading at 7,664.20 with  a loss of -0.14% percent or -10.60 point. The CAC 40 Futures are trading at 5,514.50  with a loss of -0.33% percent or -18.00 point . The DAX Futures are trading at 13,352.20   with  a loss of  -0.23% percent or -31.30 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures are trading at 3,604.00 with a loss of -0.22%  percent or -8.00 point.


 London stocks notched up a record closing high on Wednesday as retailers were boosted by a strong Christmas trading update from Morrisons and strong supermarket industry data.

The FTSE 100 closed 0.45% higher at 7,731.02, while the pound was down more than 0.3% versus the dollar at 1.3520.

Sterling was hit as EU Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier said the risk of a “disorderly Brexit” had increased, while a letter from Brexit Secretary David Davis to Theresa May revealed his concern that the EU “has adopted a number of measures that put agreements or contracts at risk of being terminated in the event of a ‘no deal’ scenario”.

For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 7,730.27  with a loss of -0.01% percent or -0.75 point. France’s CAC 40 closed at 5,523.94  for up with +0.67% percent or  +36.52 point. Germany’s DAX closed at 13,385.59  for up with +0.13% percent or  +17.81 point.


For the day the Dow are trading at 25,385.80 for up with +102.80 percent or  +0.41% point. The S&P 500 are trading at 2,751.29 for up with +0.13%  percent or +3.58 point. The Nasdaq Composite are trading at 7,163.58 for up with  +0.09% percent or  +6.19 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 23,788.20 with a loss of -0.26% percent or -61.79 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 31,073.72  for up  with +0.20% percent or  +62.31 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,421.83 for up with +0.23% percent or +7.93 point. India’s BSE Sensex are trading at 34,366.42 with a loss of  -0.22% percent or +76.77 point at 12:15 PM.
