The FTSE 100 Futures are trading at 7,596.80 for up with   +0.05% percent or +3.80 point. The CAC 40 Futures are trading at 5,295.50 for up with +0.17%  percent or +9.00  point . The DAX Futures are trading at 12,915.00 for up  with  +0.52% percent or +66.50 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures are trading at 3,486.00 for up with +0.37%  percent or +13.00 point.


London stocks finished in the red following a steady start, weighed down by a stronger pound and a worse-than-expected reading on UK manufacturing.

The FTSE 100 ended the day down 0.52% at 7,648.10, retreating from last week, when the index ended the year at a record high of 7,687.77. At the same time, the pound was up 0.55% against the US dollar to 1.3594 – its high water mark of 2017 – and 0.37% higher versus the euro at 1.1282 as traders began to reposition for the New Year.

For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 7,648.10  with a loss of -0.52% percent or -39.67 point. France’s CAC 40 closed at 5,288.60  with a loss of -0.45% percent or  -23.95 point. Germany’s DAX closed at 12,871.39  with a loss of -0.36% percent or -46.25  point.


For the day the Dow are trading at 24,824.01  for up with +0.42% percent or  +104.79 point. The S&P 500 are trading at 2,695.81 for up with +0.83% percent or 22.20 point. The Nasdaq Composite are trading at 7,006.90 for up with  +1.50% percent or  +103.51 point.
