FTSE Futures Morning Update on 26 December

UK PRE MARKET

The FTSE 100 Futures are trading at 7,526.50 for up with +0.04% percent or +2.70 point. The CAC 40 Futures are trading at 5,370.00 with a loss of -0.28% percent or -15.00 point . The DAX Futures are trading at 13,059.50 with a loss of -0.30% percent or -39.00 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures are trading at 3,547.0 with a loss of  -0.34% percent or   -12.0  point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

The FTSE 100 finished its half-day session down 0.2% at 7,592.66 after touching a new record high of 7,611.49 earlier, besting the previous day’s record closing high of 7,603.98.

London’s benchmark index was outperforming its peers in Europe, in particular the Spanish IBEX 35, which was off 1.2% at the time of the UK close after Catalonia’s pro-independence parties held on to their absolute majority in snap regional elections. This was a blow to the Spanish government, which had called the polls in the hope of heading off the secessionist push.

WORLD MARKETS

For the day the Dow are trading at 24,754.06  with a loss of –0.11% percent or –28.23 point. The S&P 500 are trading at 2,683.34  with a loss of –0.05% percent or –1.23 point. The Nasdaq Composite are trading at 6,959.96  with a loss of –0.08% percent or –5.40 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 22,892.69 with a loss of –0.20% percent or –46.49 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 29,578.01 for up  with +0.72% percent or  +210.95point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,306.12 for up with +0.78% percent or +25.66 point. India’s BSE Sensex are trading at 33,898.95 with a loss of –0.12% percent or  –41.35  point at 12:15 PM.
