FTSE Futures Morning Update on 03 October

UK PRE MARKET

The FTSE 100 Futures are trading at 7,389.00 for up with +0.04% percent or +3.00 point. The CAC 40 Futures are trading at 5,356.80  for up with +0.10%  percent or +5.30  point . The DAX Futures are trading at 12,909.80 for up with +0.87% percent or +111.80 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures are trading at 3,592.00  for up with  +0.11% percent or +4.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

London stocks were set to nudge just a couple of points higher at the open on Tuesday following fresh record highs on Wall Street.The FTSE 100 was expected to open two points higher at 7,440.CMC Markets analyst Michael Hewson said: “The pound had a disappointing day and looks on course for its third consecutive weekly decline after manufacturing PMI for September came in slightly below expectations. Nonetheless it still pointed to a strong end to Q3 for the UK economy even if momentum does appear to be slowing. Sentiment around the pound probably wasn’t helped by a pretty lacklustre speech by the Chancellor of the Exchequer at the Tory party conference, which business leaders described as ‘strong on diagnosis but weak in detail’. The feeling from business appears to be that it’s all well and good to criticise the Labour opposition, but at least offer some form of credible alternative.”

For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 7,432.18  with a loss of –0.09% percent or –6.66 point. France’s CAC 40 closed at 5,364.77  for up with  +0.27% percent or  +14.33 point. Germany’s DAX closed at 12,902.65  for up with  +0.58% percent or +73.79  point.

WORLD MARKETS

For the day the Dow are trading at 22,557.60  for up with +0.68% percent or +152.51 point. The S&P 500 are trading at 2,529.12   for up with +0.39% percent or  +9.76 point. The Nasdaq Composite are trading at 6,516.72 for up  with +0.32% percent or +20.76 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 20,614.07 for up with +1.05% percent or +213.29 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 28,099.45  for up with  +1.98% percent or  +545.15 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,348.94   for up with  +0.28% percent or  +9.30  point. India’s BSE Sensex are trading at 31,556.38   for up with  +0.87%  percent or +272.66 point at 12:15 PM .
